The SAU 24 Board named Jacqueline Coe, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools for SAU 24 at their October meeting. Dr. Coe will assume her duties as Superintendent on January 1, 2020. The SAU 24 Board is comprised of all members of the supporting school boards in Henniker, Weare, John Stark, and Stoddard Districts.
Jacqueline Coe came to SAU 24 in 2016 as Assistant Superintendent from her post as Academic Dean at Bow High School. Before becoming the dean in Bow, she taught both English and Social Studies at the school. Dr. Coe also taught at Kearsarge Regional High School. She is a member of the Education adjunct faculty at New England College.
“Jackie’s leadership style is inspiring,” said Henniker and SAU 24 School Board Chair Deb Urbaitis. “As Assistant Superintendent for the past three years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Jackie and witnessing her expertise in multiple settings including personnel and student issues, contract negotiations, and curriculum design. We are most fortunate to have her move into the role of Superintendent in SAU 24,” said Urbaitis.
“I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve as Superintendent in SAU 24 and continue the positive work initiated by Dr. Tacconi-Moore,” Coe commented on her appointment. “I am honored that the Board has confidence in my leadership, and I look forward to working collaboratively with them, our dedicated staff, families, and the community in the best interest of our students.”
“We have the best of both worlds in hiring Jackie as Superintendent,” commented SAU 24 Vice-Chair and Weare School Board Member Wendy Curry. “We know from her current work in SAU 24 that she is a talented administrator who is experienced in SAU 24 systems. She’s skilled in contract negotiations, budgets, and working with community members and staff,” she continued. “How do you replace the Superintendent of the Year? It is with Jackie. She has a proven track record within SAU 24 and brings a new perspective and curriculum expertise that will allow us to keep moving forward,” concluded Ms. Curry.
Jacqueline Coe is a New Hampshire native and lives in Bow. She is married and has two daughters. Dr. Coe is a summa cum laude graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, holds a Master’s degree from Dartmouth College, and earned her Doctorate of Education from New England College.
